Apparently
Apparently some people got mad over my mini rant about drug testing for welfare. Well, I hate to break it to you but… I don’t care. I stand by my opinion on it. I work hard for my money, and I got drug tested for my job too. I see no reason why people who rely on welfare or any sort of public aid should not be drug tested either. There are programs out there that help protect children in case a parent fails his/her test, so that the children are fed, clothed, and receive things they need. (no worries on that one, the children are safe.) Now, If I work for my money just like many other people, I’m sure as hell no one wants the money to be abused and used for luxuries other people who don’t work for it but want it. I rather have my money be used for schools, roads, parks, and w.e is beneficial to the community. People make their own choices, if they chose to use money on drugs then go ahead, I can’t stop them, but I don’t think they should be touching tax money to obtain drugs. To those who think I’m a shit for stating my opinion, go ahead get mad, because guess what? TEXAS JUST MADE DRUG TESTING MANDATORY and joined the few other states that have passed the law for it. Many states are considering it also. Drug tests will not be reimbursed. Fail the first drug test: 6 months of no welfare Fail drug test #2: 1 year of no welfare Fail drug test # 3: Banned from any kind of public assistance for life. Now I’m no politician, nor do I plan on being one, but to the state that has proposed this plan, thank you I think its great. Even though I personally think they should do community service hours, such as cleaning up parks, highways, streets, and ect. I rest my case. Good day to everyone too. :) P.S. My speech on this was great, got an A ;) #drugtesting welfare rant2 drugs opinion
Drug Testing and Welfare.
Started writing my outline for a persuasive speech on how people who rely on welfare should be drug tested. While looking for articles I came across a quote I’m 100% with. “USA TODAY.” USATODAY.COM. USA Today News, 18 Mar. 2012. Web. 10 Apr. 2013. I find this statement true, because if you can buy drugs then you do not need the money I worked hard for. Matter of fact, no one should be giving their hard earned money for selfish needs and satisfaction. I get drug tested work, so those people who rely on public aid should be too. The money that is being spent on drugs can be used on many other things, such as improving/funding schools, because kids need an education more then you need your drugs. I also want those damn pot holes fixed in the streets so my car can stop taking a beating, but NO! that can’t be done because apparently Chicago is broke like a joke while people’s money is being given to the wrong people, and our economy is left suffering. My solution to this problem? Pass your exam? drug test fee is covered you get your money. By doing so, drug test funds will slowly be covered and our communities can slowly improve over time. I’m sure that if an individual is forced to work 40 hours of community service or more, by cleaning up high ways/streets, planting gardens, and being active in the community. Along with not only having to wait longer for his check, but also not receiving the full amount of it, That person just might think twice before rolling a blunt. We work for our money and get drug tested, so should they.
